A passion that became a specialization
KiriGreen Paulownia was founded in France in 2024, but our story with Paulownia began well before that.
For several years, we have grown, observed and studied this fascinating tree. Its exceptional growth, its many varieties, the lightness of its wood and its potential for forestry, agricultural and ornamental projects gradually led us to specialize entirely in its cultivation.
Rather than offering a general catalogue, we made the choice to devote ourselves to Paulownia in all its forms: seeds, root cuttings and bare-root stumps. This specialization lets us select different varieties according to climates and projects — and support both the individual who wants to plant a few trees and the professional developing a larger-scale plantation.
A name rooted in history
"Kiri" (桐) is the Japanese name for Paulownia. For centuries, this tree has held a special place in Japanese culture: the Paulownia motif is associated with the history of imperial power and is still used today as an emblem of the Japanese government. An old tradition also linked the Kiri to birth, marriage, prosperity and good fortune.
"Green" connects to our earlier brand identity, but it also represents what drives us: nature, trees, planting and a greener vision of the future.
KiriGreen was born from the meeting of our experience with Paulownia, its thousand-year history in Asia, and our wish to build a modern brand entirely specialized in this remarkable tree.
