The Paulownia Hybrid 9501 is the original first-generation hybrid of the well-known 950X lineage, created from the cross Paulownia fortunei × Paulownia tomentosa. Selected for its impressive growth speed, straight trunk formation and high productivity, it became the foundational hybrid that later inspired improved selections such as 9502 and 9503. Although these hybrids share the same genetic parents, each is a distinct variety with its own characteristics — the 9501 stands out as the versatile, proven reference of the line.
Recognised worldwide as a reliable and versatile hybrid, the 9501 performs exceptionally well across Europe, Asia, the United States and Australia, making it one of the most widely cultivated Paulownia hybrids globally. Its robust genetic traits have made it a reference point for professional forestry, timber production, biomass programs and large-scale ecological restoration projects.
Each bare-root cutting from KiriGreen is premium Grade A, selected for its structural integrity, vitality and excellent rooting potential. Root cuttings are the most economical and reliable way to start a plantation — each is a segment of root that develops into a new, genetically identical plant, conditioned for spring planting to ensure reliable establishment and vigorous growth across a wide range of climates and soils.
This format is particularly suited to forestry plantations, timber production, veneer and plywood, biomass and biofuel projects, agroforestry and large-scale ecological restoration.
